It's (almost) All Over But The Cryin'...
This morning was back to school morning for 11th graders... which meant dragging Lil'DD to work with me, taking her to the high school to pick up her schedule and get her locker assignment and fill out those parent information cards... It was REALLY weird only having to go one time for one kid this year. The only other time that happened was the year Ms.Blue started kindergarten...
Then I drove Lil"DD back to the house. And I hugged Mr.SoonToBeBlue.
He gave me a real SonHuggingHisMomHug rather than one of those embarassed teenage boy things I've been getting the past couple of years... it was nice. I almost cried...
He's leaving before I get off work today... going to big city to stay in the MEPS (MilitaryEntranceProcessingStation) hotel so he can get up early tomorrow and be processed before flying off into the wild blue yonder. I could have taken this afternoon off if I'd asked but jeez, I'd just spend the entire night bawling, which would be no good because I have to work at my 2nd job tonight and payroll taxes have to be done. Not a good combination, taxes and tears, I dont' think. SO. I took the whole day off tomorrow and we're driving over to big city to spend a little time w/ DS after he's processed and re-sworn and all that good stuff... To say good-bye. And good-luck. And yes. THEN. I can start crying. About the time I turn my back, take the eleven steps from the chairs in the reception area to the front doors, five steps through the front doors and out onto the sidewalk. THEN. I will cry. After hugging my little boy good bye.
I took the whole day off so I can take Lil'DD to the mall while we're over in big city and see if we can find her some cool clothes. She's going to be a junior this year and school starts next week.
I wonder what the rules are for crying women who are scaring the wits out of mall shoppers. Anyone know? Well, anyway...
Ms.Blue is doing great, by the way. Especially considering the fact that she didn't get caught with the kitten she snuck into her dorm last week and couldnt' find a home for off base until Sunday evening. Other than that, all is well with Ms.Blue...
Oh! There is one good thing that happened this week. I sent in my reservation to test for my Paralegal Certificate. I've finally been here long enough to do that without finishing my degree. My boss signed the paper yesterday and the other attorney said they would pay the $250.00 registration/testing fee. THAT WAS NICE. Dont' get that too often around here, so I wanted to make sure I told you... SO. I have less than 60 days to keep myself totally busy cramming through all my textbooks and the law library here at work trying to remember all the crud I learned in college because I REALLY WANT TO PASS THIS TEST. And be recognized as a professional paralegal. Might keep my mind off Mr.SoonToBeBlue being gone too as a matter of fact...
Mr.SoonToBeBlue(a.k.a.AcademyBoy) is now officially my own darling Mr.Blue.
Good Luck son. I love you.
