OMG. I like my house. Can I say that enough??
We did take 30 minutes out of the hum-drum on Saturday to stop by hunting camp and check out the score sheet. They got 7 DEER opening day... I survived not being out in the woods, was too busy moving to think about it much... yesterday it rained all day. Moving in the rain is not fun. Especially when you pull into the house you're moving out of and the u-haul truck sinks 36 inches down in the mud and it continues to rain the next 5 hours while you're loading the truck and you have to wait for someone with a winch on their truck to drive in from a hunting camp to pull it out... trust me, I know. ;) ... the new house is coming together beautifully. The old house, well, after the mud we tracked across the hardwood floors dries... and we get the rest of the boxes out of the kitchen... and finish cleaning... and level the front yard back out so the grass can come back in the spring...well, it's still going to be an old house and I'm not going to miss it one little bit!

Now... if DH can just get the new hot tub drained and running before the long holiday weekend, I might feel like unpacking the rest of those boxes and cleaning up all the mud at the other house!

A SHORT (Hah!) DETOUR...

DH's grandmother passed away early Thursday morning... just about the time we hit the interstate heading for central Texas DH's brother-in-law's father died... So... I've been in small town Texas for five days going to funerals and putting up with the outlaws from hell... I missed five days of packing and cleaning and MIL is coming in a week to get in my way... We got home last night after a 12 hour drive to discover we'd run out of propane while we were gone and there's no hot water at the old house and we dont' move until day after tomorrow (SIGH)... and having missed three days of work, now I can't take off Friday to move like we planned... Did I mention my rude-ass MIL is going to be here in a week? UGGH. I am frusterated this morning. Ok. While I was gone, the sec tore my office apart looking for stuff and I not only have a torn apart mess from box-hell at home, my office resembles ground zero. I'm not sure if I want to cry or run away at this point, but I think I'm going to have to wait and do that after I make a few calls and try and get some address changes done on some of our bills... I'd been doing a few a day and was supposed to be done with that now.... like the packing and cleaning was supposed to be done...

Everything happens for a reason. I know.

Friday the law office across the way from us was somehow involved in a shooting. that's all I know about that.

The sec is involved in one of those check scams that were featured on the news this morning. SHE GOT SUCKERED ROFLMAO... She had mentioned yesterday that she had met this guy on the internet and had been chatting with him... showed me his picture, then he called the office yesterday and we weren't prepared for the heavy accent he spoke with... anyway, she said he wants her to do something... then I saw on channel 3 this morning they just arrested some people not far from here for another check scam... I mentioned it to her and she said oh no it's not like that so we pulled up the news website and watched it and that's exactly what it was except they sent her stolen money orders... I told her she ought to call the attorney general and she ended up having to send it all to them... What a ditz.

We closed on the house Friday. I own a house. And a hot tub. I'm so excited. I can't wait till next week when they get the rest of their stuff out and we can start moving in. Last night we went and bought fence. A pretty wooden fence... :)
