About...Stuff.
Friday a growling, swirling storm blew in and knocked the power out, AGAIN.
Tornados went by out at the lake where we keep our camper in the summer and not too far from the house. There is a lot of damage out at the lake, but lucky for us it hit a few streets from the campers and we didn't get blown away. The new house is about 12 miles outside of town, between here and Jackson, MS. With the street lights not working and the storm raging, it took an hour and ten minutes to get from the office to our offramp on I-20 Friday afternoon. A little farther past that, there was an itty bitty female deputy blocking the road that said there was power lines down and we couldn't get home that way, and trees down blocking the other road in. But, she said, if we want to go on down closer to Jackson there was another way home that they had cleared the trees and we could get home that way if we wanted. OhMyGosh. I went back to the onramp and waited for DH who wasn't too far behind me, figuring he could lead the way so I wouldn't get lost. OhMyGosh. It was an itty bity dirt road full of potholes and the storm was still raging and Lil'DD must have thought I lost my mind because I laughed the whole rest of the way until we got home. I swear, the things we've got to experience since moving to Mississippi are unbelievable. So we got home and the power was out a few days. We went back to town and bought the last generator. At least we have one now, it seems the power goes out a lot in the country. The rest of the weekend pretty much sucked, it was a couple of days before they got the power lines off the road, but the trees were cut and cleared and we were able to go the other long way to and from our house... what fun.
Mr.Blue graduated from tech school yesterday. Hooray. He rented a car and is driving to Dallas today then the rest of the way home tomorrow for a short stopover before going to his new base in Little Rock Monday morning. I cannot wait to see him, hug him, and cook for him!!!
Ms.Blue and NavyBoy got their car back out of the shop. They adopted a dog to go with their cat and she is officially moving in with him.
Nothing much else new. Looking at the convention schedule for our upcoming trip to Vegas that just happens to coincide with another World Series of Poker. Lucky Me. I'm wondering if I've still got what it takes to stay up all night and play in one of the satellites tournaments. We'll see. I haven't made up my mind for sure yet.
...gotta run!
